A little man from India, Old and Bald,
With round spectacles and scantily clad,
Won a war with just a stick in his hand,
Non-violence is the weapon, he made a trend.
From being thrown out, of an African station,
He rose to become, Father of this great Nation,
Rising against, the British’s diversionary tactic,
He united the country, in a fight so hectic.
From a lawyer to a saint, he transformed with ease,
With Charkha as weapon, togetherness he beseech,
Together with some handful, to Dandi he marched,
Making salt, created a civil-disobedience arch.
With Quit India movement, he turned up the heat,
Under pressure, the mighty British had to finally quit,
And, India became an Independent nation,
Thanks to the Bapu, God's "Mahaan atma" creation .
The whole world today is indebted to him,
For his non-violent preaching, of Indian origin,
Let his teachings never be stalled,
A little man from India, Old and Bald.
