A Promise

You came knocking on the heart's door,
The impatient knuckles were sounding like a roar,
You thought love is something I abhor ,
Or maybe emotions not there, in my heart's store.

That the romance might be asleep,
Or I may just trying to give you a slip,
Were you wondering for the distance I keep,
Standing calm, but the nervous hands trembling with weep.

Calling out loud “don't knock anymore”
I can see the love in your eyes galore,
I rushed to answer, that you are the one I too adore,
But destiny played a trick, before I can came to ashore.

I wanted you to stay, but never could I say,
Somedays, I will cross again, your love's loving way,
The door might be closed, I may not see you sway,
Some stranger might be there, making you play.

But, when I will look myself in mirror,
I will see your eyes, who looks at me as dear,
As I close my eyes, I will be always your bearer,
A pearl will drop as tear, remembering we could have been nearer.

Your knuckle will whisper, every time I will sleep,
“Where could I get, a love so simple and so deep?”
You promised me nothing, but only love forever to keep,
An honest morning dew, as the symbol of your love's reap.

Before you go, far away, I promise though it looks weird,
I will never let your love for me to get disappeared!!!
